Tis the season

We are in the middle of the Holiday season and all are running around finding the “best and biggest” presents for our loved ones. We have been conditioned in such a way that we miss the real reason. The reason for the season is to spend time with our families, to have memorable events with them. Material fade, get old, and sometimes stop working. But the time that we spent with our loved ones never fade!

One thing that I have learned, especially in 2020, is tomorrow is really not promised. Who cares if you have the most expensive outfit on, or if you bought your child the n PS5. What matters is the time you spend with your loved ones. Yeah, they will say my mom, dad, grandparents bought me this and that, but what they really remember is the time that you have spent with them.

We, as parents, have lost focus on that and this is the year that was given to us to being it back. We are “stuck” in our homes to create our own fun and memories. We should not take this time for granted. Spend time with your loved ones regardless if it’s in person or FaceTime. Reaching out to each other and letting them know that we care is what is keeping us alive.

Even if you don’t have a particular subject to speak on, a simple call to let them know you were on their mind speaks volumes!!!

Let’s take it back to the days when, we as a family, sat at the dinner table without phones and talk about our day. Or sit in front of the television and watched movies or a show, have game night. Or use run in the leaves and snow having a good time. Spending money is not the only way we can make memories for our loved ones.
